The CPM secretariat which met here on Monday criticised Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan for his open remarks against the party leadership. In his recent interviews to the media on the occasion of his 90th birthday, VS had stated that wrong selection of candidates had resulted in the party’s defeat during the 2011 Assembly elections.

He had also stuck to his earlier stand on T P Chandrasekharan murder and SNC Lavalin cases which had left the party leadership in poor light. Party sources revealed that none of the secretariat members came to the support of VS in the meeting.
