Close on the heels of the Congress leaders in Idukki demanding action against Government Chief Whip P C George, the outspoken leader on Tuesday came in support of the Congress getting another chance to contest from Idukki in parliamentary elections.

The Kerala Congress(M) should not demand a second seat in parliament elections, party vice-chairman P C George said while participating in a programme in Thodupuzha, organised by a television channel to discuss the implementation of the Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel report.

Ironically, the statement has come at a time when the Kerala Congress (M) is vying to get an additional seat of Idukki for its candidate  Francis George, who had recently demanded to take steps to rein in P C George.

George opined that P T Thomas, MP, of Congress was the only person eligible for the seat.W
