KC(M) high-power committee meeting to be held on November 11

In an attempt to troubleshoot the internal issues in the party, the High Power Committee meeting of the Kerala Congress (M) will be held at the party headquarters here on November 11.

In an attempt to troubleshoot the internal issues in the party, the High Power Committee meeting of the Kerala Congress (M) will be held at the party headquarters here on November 11.

The party sources has officially declared the date for the meeting, yielding to the immense pressure from the belligerent P J Joseph faction in the party.

The meeting is expected to discuss the internal conflicts in the party ignited by Government Chief Whip and party vice-chairman P C George. Though, the single sentence announcement has not mentioned the agenda of the meeting, ‘P C George’ will be the hot point of the discussion as the party had to drop its previous steering committee meeting following the issues had reached a boiling point, when George said that the KC(M) would not stake claim for Idukki Parliament seat in the upcoming general elections.

The meeting of the 21-member committee will be crucial for the party as the issues has eroded the unity with in the party, when the Joseph faction took tough stance against the damage created by George. Moreover, the issues had, in fact, ignited speculations over a possible split in the party unless party chairman K M Mani comes forward to bridle George, who was acerbic of leaders of Joseph faction. In the mean time, a staunch loyalist of Joseph said that the time has already passed for initiating steps to restrain George, rather they need concrete action against him including removing him the posts of Government Chief Whip and deputy chairman of the party.
