With Kerala Congress (B) chairman R Balakrishna Pillai threatening to resign from the post of Forward Castes Development Corporation chairman and even take the extreme step of making K B Ganesh Kumar resign the MLA post if the ministership to KC(B) is denied, an assurance was given by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that KC(B) has right for ministerial berth.
“The KC(B) has the right for a ministerial berth and the assurance was given to the party.
“The induction of K B Ganesh Kumar and related issues will be sorted out after the Lok Sabha polls,’’ Chandy said.
Chandy also supported Ganesh Kumar by saying that he is not tainted as there were no cases existing against him. The Chief Minister’s assurance and support came at a time when KC(B) is meeting on January 3 ahead of the proposed UDF meet, to adopt the party’s stand on the issue.
Earlier in the day when the decision not to induct Ganesh Kumar at this juncture was communicated to KC(B), Balakrishna Pillai came down heavily on the Congress alleging that the KC(B) was being treated ham-handedly and also criticised the Chief Minister.
“The KC(B) is not being informed about anything happening in the UDF.
“The re-entry of Ganesh Kumar was assured by the Chief Minister. However the Congress is now seeking the post to which we have every right. The party meeting to be held on January 3 will take a final call regarding the steps to be taken,’’ Pillai said.
