‘Allot More Forest Land at Sabarimala’

SABARIMALA:  Devaswom and Health Minister V S Sivakumar has said that the State Government approached the Central Government for the allotment of additional forest land at Sabarimala for improving basic facilities for the pilgrims.

Inaugurating the cleaning programme undertaken by the volunteers of Mata Amritanandamayi Math at Pampa on Sunday, the Minister said the Government submitted a detailed memorandum to the Prime Minister and Environment and Forest Minister seeking additional forest land for undertaking development activities at Sabarimala.The State Government also requested the Centre to declare Sabarimala hill shrine as a national pilgrim centre.Raju Abraham MLA presided over the function. Anto Antony MP, Travancore Devaswom Board member Subhash Vasu, Amitabh Pen of Mata Amritanandamayi Math and Sabarimala Devaswom executive officer V S Jayakumar were present at the meeting.
