THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The government has given sanction to the Agriculture Department to procure rubber from the Rubber Board’s Kottayam market by paying `5 more per kg.
RSS 4 and RSS 5 grades of rubber will be procured from the farmers by providing Rs 5 more per kg.
“It is to help the farmers against the backdrop of the steep fall in rubber prices that the government is intervening in the market,” said an order issued in this regard by Chief Secretary E K Bharat Bhushan on Thursday.
