Easwari Ends Fast

PALAKKAD: CPI state council member and state general secretary of the Adivasi Mahasabha Easwari Resan ended her indefinite fast here on the fourth day on Wednesday. She ended the fast by drinking the tender coconut water offered by CPI state executive committee member V Chamunni.

M B Rajesh MP, who is also on an indefinite fast,is likely to end it on Thursday. CPM district secretary C K Rajendran, when contacted, said that a final decision on the matter will be taken after the party district secretariat meet on Wednesday. “Rural Development Minister K C Joseph has called M B Rajesh over phone and briefed him about the decisions taken by the cabinet. District Collector K Ramachandran has also apprised him of the decisions taken on Wednesday,” he said.

Meanwhile, CPI district secretary K P Suresh Raj said they decided to call off the fast as the government accepted most of the demands. He said that Rural Development Minister K C Joseph had called him and intimated decisions of the Cabinet.
