THRISSUR: CPM Kannur district secretary and state secretariat member P Jayarajan visited Viyyur Central Jail here, on Sunday morning, to meet Dhanarajan, of Ramanthali in Kannur, who has been lodged in the jail.
Dhanarajan is charged under Kerala Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act (KAPA) and had been on a fast, protesting against the alleged torture in the jail.
Jayarajan told reporters that Home Minister had been slapping KAPA charges on CPM workers and is torturing them in jails. “Under the UDF Government, the prisons are turning out to be places of torture,” he said.
