KOTTAYAM: The sages who are supposed to support are backstabbing, alleged SNDP general secretary Vellappally Natesan at Kottayam on Sunday.

He was inaugurating the Sree Narayana Vaidhika Samithi at Nagampadom Sreemahadevar Temple premises here. Natesan flayed the policies of the sanyasins of the Sivagiri Mutt, without naming anyone.

“The pilgrims throng Sivagiri not to visit the sanysins, but the tomb of Sreenarayana Guru. The sanyasis of Sivagiri are no longer giving any spiritual support. The Ezhava society has lost its ability to differentiate good from bad nowadays,” he said.

He also flayed the Christian churches, who had supported the agitation against increasing the height of Mullaperiyar Dam, for keeping silent on the issue even though the water level of the dam has risen to the permissible level. SNDP Kottayam Union president A G Thankappan chaired the function. Gurupatham Karumathra Vijayan thanthri delivered spiritual message.
