KUMILY: The five member sub-committee to monitor the safety of Mullaperiyar Dam will visit the dam on Tuesday as part of its regular visits to ensure the safety of the dam.
The team which was supposed to visit the dam on a weekly basis had last visited the dam on October 30. With the dam inching toward the permissible limit of 142 ft level, the team taking the matter in a lighter vein has invoked criticism from the two members representing Kerala.Meanwhile, E S Bijimol MLA representing Peermade assembly constituency, visited the dam and said that the seepage through the dam has increased menacingly.
Of the 22 blocks of the main dam, breaches have been spotted in 19 blocks, she said. She asked the Chief Minister to urgently take up the matter with PM. The arrogance of TN in not letting out water is immature and unacceptable, she said.
