Eight-year-old boy Killed by Father

KOZHENCHERY : In a tragic incident on Wednesday, an   eight-year-old child was killed by his ‘mentally-ill’ father at their house here around 3.30 pm.

The victim has been identified as Rejin, a class three  student of Kuriyannoor West MT Lower Primary School.

The incident occurred when the accused Regi called back his son from school. Regin’s mother Sheela was not present at the house at the time of the incident.

According to local people, the accused has been undergoing treatment for mental illness. Koipram police have visited the crime scene and collected evidence.  Rejin is the lone child of Regi-Sheela couple.

Regi has been taken into custody by the police.
