ALUVA: A scene in the movie series Harold and Kumar teaches us a very important lesson - never mention the dreaded ‘B’ word while onboard an aircraft, or at airport for that matter.
Palaniappan, who hails from Cherthala, too learned a similar lesson the hard way on Wednesday evening. Palaniappan, who was originally on a trip to Doha, had his journey cancelled after he mentioned the word “bomb” at a Jet Airways’ checking counter.
The flustered officials immediately summoned the CISF authorities, who handed him over to the Nedumbassery police after a futile search for bomb in his luggage.
In his defense, the 58-year-old claimed that he was inebriated and that he merely mentioned the word ‘bomb’ jokingly at the Nedumbassery police station. Whatever the reason may be, the commuter lost a wad of cash that he paid for the ticket although he was later released after frisking.
