Kainakari Observes Canonisation Fete

Kainakari-Observes.jpgALAPPUZHA: The Chavara Bhavan and the faithful here celebrated the canonisation of Father Kuriakose Elias Chavara at Kainakari on Sunday.

A procession was taken out from Kainakari Chavara junction on the Alappuzha-Changanassery road. Fr Philip Vaikkathukaran inaugurated the procession.

It was followed by a meeting, which was inaugurated by Bishop Mar Jose Puthenveettil, at the Chavara Bhavan. 

Kainakari-Observes-1.jpgThe live telecast of the canonisation ceremony   from Rome was arranged at the Chavara Bhavan from 2.30 pm.

Over hundreds of faithfuls took part in the procession and other programmes.

A thanksgiving Holy Mass, led by Father James Chakkalackal and assisted by Chavara Bhavan director Father Johnson Pandalanickal, was held in the evening.
