Injured CPM Worker Puts Blame on Police

CHALIL-VEETTIL-BIJU.jpgTHALAASSERY: Amid recurring clashes between CPM and RSS activists in Panoor region, a CPM activist of Thoovakkunnu near Panoor, who was admitted to General Hospital on Wednesday, alleged that he was attacked by a group of policemen when he was going to attend a cremation.

“We were going to place wreath on the body of a party activist who passed away at North Poiloor. But the policemen who followed us on jeep lathi-charged us around 9.45 am and I suffered injuries on head ,” Chalil Veettil Biju, 29, who was undergoing treatment at the surgical ward of General Hospital, alleged.
