Reception Planned for Patriarch

KOTTAYAM: The arrangements for the grand reception of Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem-II of the Syrian Orthodox Church on his maiden  visit to India on February 8, have entered its final phase. He will spend eight days in Kerala.

A seven-member team of Metropolitans will escort the Patriarch during his visit. He will be received at the Kochi International Airport on February 7 by Catholicos Baselios Thomas-I, Metropolitans and various state ministers.

A 34-member team including eight Metropolitans will come along with him the patriarch.

The Patriarch will participate in various programmes organised by the Church on February 9.

On February 11 and 12, Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem-II will take part in the Manjinikkara Church annual festival. 

The Patriarch will also deliver a speech at the Maramon Convention the next day. He will attend rituals at various churches in the state during the visit.
