KOTTAYAM: The police team probing the murder of Sr Amala, a Catholic nun at a convent in Pala, has zeroed in on the suspected killer, identified as Satheesh Nair alias Satheesh Babu, 38, of Mezhuvathattungal House, Kuttikkott, Kasargod. Though the police had closed in on the accused, suspected to be a psychopath, he gave them the slip. Sources said Satheesh, who has a criminal background, has ties with goonda gangs in various places.

ccording to police, the suspect was involved in similar cases in the past as well and was arrested and jailed on charge of bid to commit culpable homicide consequent to a case registered at Vadakkanchery police station. “We have concrete and clinching evidence against this man,” said S Satheesh Bino, Kottayam SP.
