KOCHI: The High Court has dismissed the petition filed by IG T J Jose challenging the MG University order debarring him from appearing in any examinations conducted by the University for a period of one year after the officer was caught red-handed while resorting to exam malpractice.
The court also upheld the decision cancelling all the LLM examinations taken by him in April/May 2015.“The court does not think that there is any need to interfere with the order. Hence the petition is dismissed,” it said.
According to the petitioner,the varsity decision went against the procedural formalities. However, HC held that the Syndicate had discussed the Probe Committee report at its meeting on December 18,2015. This was a procedure adopted by the varsity as per the statute and the court did not think the Syndicate had to pass an order on the alleged malpractice based on the explanation offered.
