MALAPPURAM: Finance Minister Thomas Isaac has said that the government would distribute three-wheelers for free to the differently-abled lottery sellers in the state.
He was speaking after releasing the state government’s  Christmas-New Year bumper lottery at Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala Platinum Jubilee Hall in the district the other day. The government would use the funds received from lottery sale to address the drought issues, said Isaac.

“Demonetisation has severely affected the lottery sales. The government even thought of not selling lottery for some time. It has brought lots of damage to the public exchequer,’’ the Minister said. He said the government had struggled to give pension and salary to the employees in cash. The currency crunch has affected the growth of the state. It would take a long time to recover from this situation, he added.
The first prize of the bumper lottery is `4 crore, the second prize winners will take home `10 lakh each and  the third prize winners will get `5 lakh each.
Each ticket costs Rs 100 and the draw will take place on January 20.
