Maramon Convention Set to Begin From February 14

PATHANAMTHITTA: The 121st Maramon Convention, organised under the auspices of the Marthoma Evangelistic Association, is all set to begin on the sand-bed of Pampa river at Maramon near Kozhencherry from February 14.

The Maramon Convention, one of world’s largest Christian congregations, will be inaugurated by supreme head of Marthoma Church Joseph Marthoma Metropolitan at 2 pm. Valiya Metropolitan of the church Philipose Mar Chrysostum will deliver inaugural prayer address.

Evangelstic Association president Thomas Mar Timothios will preside over the meeting. Geevarghese Mar Athanasios Suffragan Metropolitan, episcopas of the church Geevarghese Mar Theodosios Uyakim Mar Coorilos, Joseph Mar Barnabas, Issac Mar Philexinos,Abraham Mar Coorilos, Abraham Mar Paulose, Mathews Mar Macarios, Gregorios Mar Sthephanos and Thomas Mar Tithos address during the convention days.

Noted speakers on theology, including Bishop Daniel Thyagaraja of Sri Lanka, Rev Malcom T H Tan of Singapore, Dr Leonard Swit of the US and  Rev Francis Sundaraj of Chennai will deliver discourses at the convention. Valiya Metropolitan Philipose Mar Chrysostum will deliver the key-note message 10 am on February 16.

At the ecumenical meeting to be held at 10 am on February 17 will be addressed by metropolitans of various church denominations. Former additional chief secretary D Babu Paul will address the special meeting on awareness campaign against social evils at 2pm on February 17.
