THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The tenth Pay Revision Commission in a separate report on the Kerala Water Authority has recommended for tariff hike to make it self-sufficient.
The Commission pegged the accumulated loss of the authority at `2620 crore. The water tariff should be raised to recover at least the cost of production, the report said.
The Commission’s lower and higher scale of payments in the authority are `8950-`14640 and `5280-`63450 respectively.
Holidays, arts and sports festivals in schools should be rescheduled to ensure at least 200 class days a year, the Commission mooted.
The directorates of public instructions, higher secondary and vocational higher secondary streams should be merged into a Directorate of Schools.
