56th Kerala School Kalolsavam Leads the Pack on Day 2

By late evening on Wednesday - the second day of the 56th Kerala School Kalolsavam - Palakkad district was leading the pack, albeit by a whisker.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  By late evening on Wednesday - the second day of the 56th Kerala School Kalolsavam - Palakkad district was leading the pack, albeit by a whisker, when the results of 22 events in the high school section and 26 events in the higher secondary school section were out.

Slen.jpgAt the time of filing this report, Palakkad was leading with 233 points with Kottayam, Malappuram and Kozhikode hard on its heels. Kottayam is in the second spot with 227 points. Malappuram shared the third spot with Kozhikode with 224 points, followed by Ernakulam and Kannur; both 221 each. Four schools were leading in the high school category with 20 points each: Carmel EM Girls HSS, Thiruvananthapuram; HSS Sreekrishnapuram, Palakkad; Vidhyadiraja Vidya Bhavan EMHS, Aluva, and St Joseph’s Anglo Indian Girls HSS, Kozhikode.In the HSS category, GVHSS, Mananthavadi, leads with 38 points.

Sreerenjini N S of St Mary’s Girls HSS, Pala, and Anagha M of Providence GHSS stood first in the Mohiniyattam event in the high school category. Athul Krishna of Chovva HSS, Kannur,  stood first in Kathakali (boys) in the high school section, while Pranav P V of GOHS Edathanattukara bagged the top spot in the Kuchipudi (boys) competition.  Again, in the high school section, Harishma Hari of Government HSS, Bharathannoor, Thiruvananthapuram, and Alan Stens of Holy Family GHS, Angamaly, shared the top spot in the Malayalam essay competition.

Slena.jpgV R Sreelakshmi of Rajahs HS Nileshwar, Kasargod, won the Bharatanatyam event in the higher secondary section, while Amal G Nair of Mayyanad HSS, Kollam, and Athul A Kumar of Government HSS, Thumpamon North, Pathanamthitta, shared the top spot in the Kuchupudi (boys) in the HSS section. Harikrishnan P G of NHSS, Irinjalakuda, was adjudged the best in Kathakali (boys - HSS), and Yadhukrishnan M M of TRK HSS, Vaniyamkulam, Palakkad, stood first in Ottamthullal (HSS).
