MALAPPURAM: The stage is set for yet another round of exciting college football with GOAL 2016 - the fifth edition of the all-Kerala inter-collegiate football tournament organised by The New Indian Express - beginning at the Malappuram District Sports Council Stadium, Kottappady, on Sunday.
Some of the brightest young talents will be in action over the course of the 14-day tournament looking to earn for their respective teams the honour of the best college football team in the state, along with the ONGC-TNIE Trophy.
It carries a cash prize of `2 lakh for the champions. Joining hands with TNIE to provide the best possible platform for young footballers are some of the leading brands. TVS Motor Company is the presenting partner while Coca Cola is the title partner. ONGC has come in as the trophy partner while Indian Oil and Cochin Shipyard are associate partners. Opening and final matches will be beamed live on ACV.
