THISSUR: The Thrissur Vigilance Court on Thursday directed to register a FIR against Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed in the solar bribery case.
The court ordered a probe against the CM and Power Minister after registering a FIR against the accused, on a petition filed by social activist P D Joseph in the wake of the new allegation raised against the CM and power Minister by solar scam accused Sarith Nair.
Acting on the petition, the Vigilance court judge observed that those who ate slat should drink the water. Whether it is Prime Minister or Chief Minister justice should also be same for all. The court also observed that in extraordinary situations there will be extraordinary orders.
The solar accused, Saritha S. Nair, has deposed before the judicial panel on Wednesday that she had given a sum of Rs 1.90 crore to Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Rs 40 lakhs to Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed as bribe on the assurance that they would facilitate government support for her solar projects.
In the complaint, P D Joseph asked the court to give instruction to the enforcement agencies to file a FIR against the accused in the wake of the new revelations against them.
