NIA quizzes 5th accused in IS case

KOCHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing activities of the South Indian module of the Islamic State (IS) on Monday interrogated the fifth accused in the case, a Kollengode-native who arrived from Qatar after being summoned by the agency.

NIA officials said Mohammad Fayas Abdul Salam alias Ali as arraigned as the fifth accused after preliminary investigation revealed his involvement in the case. Mohammad Fayas offered to be questioned after he was included in the case, and appeared before the NIA office here. An aspiring Chartered Accountant, Mohammad Fayas had left for Qatar to meet his parents on September 22, ten days before the IS module was busted at Kanakamala.
