THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Attacking the Congress and Youth Congress over agitations in the self-financing issue, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the strike was aimed at protecting the interests of managements. The strike is for those who are irked over losing the opportunity to take bribe for medical seats, said Pinarayi, while adding that the government is proud over the self-financing agreement. “During the UDF tenure, the self-financing managements had a free hand. They used to take fee as per their interest. I can very well understand the managements’ dismay when the Left Government brought in restrictions to ensure that seats are allotted only based on merit. But why are the Youth Congress and Congress feeling uneasy?,” Pinarayi asked.
