The Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Thursday directed the police to shift Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, key accused in the actor assault case, to the Viyyur Central Prison in Thrissur

KOCHI: The Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Thursday directed the police to shift Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, key accused in the actor assault case, to the Viyyur Central Prison in Thrissur. The direction came in the light of a plea moved by Suni raising concerns about his safety inside the Kakkanad District Jail, where he is currently lodged. In his petition, Suni sought a transfer to the Aluva Sub-jail, which would enable him to give a statement before the court without any concerns. However, accepting the request, the court granted his transfer to the Viyyur Central prison.

Earlier, Suni’s counsel said the state government and the police were preventing Suni from disclosing details of the conspiracy behind the case against him.Emerging out of the court, Suni reiterated his earlier statement on the involvement of a ‘madam’ in the crime. He said more details on her would be disclosed after being shifted to the new prison. The other day, the Angamaly court had extended the remand period of Suni till August 30.

Meanwhile, the  Special Investigation Team on Thursday recorded the statement of actor Remya Nambeesan in connection with the case. The actor, who is a close friend of the victim, was summoned to the Aluva Police Club for recording her statement. Officers said the interrogation focused on the film personalities who had come to meet the victim after the incident.
