The official Facebook page of Kochi Metro on Thursday asked people to name its Mascot, a cute turquoise coloured baby elephant.

The contest asked people to comment the name for the mascot and win exciting prices.

The post promised that the top three names which garner the most number of likes will be shortlisted, based on which the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) officials will finalise the name and the winner.

But the KMRL is in a fix now because the most liked name in the comment box is 'Kummanana'.

The Comment posted by Lijo Varghese has garnered over 7,200 likes and if going by the conditions set by the Kochi Metro Facebook page, 'Kummanana' should be one of the shortlisted names.

Soon after Lijo commented the name, many others followed the suit.

But would they?

Because, the reference here is about Kummanam Rajasekharan, the BJP's Kerala state president, whose Metro ride was trolled heavily on social media.

The trolls had even lead 'Kummanadi' to enter the urban lexicon of Malayalees.

According to Urban Dictionary, 'Kummanadi' refers to "Travel without a ticket in a public transport system."

Kummanam, who was reportedly not on the official invite list, appeared on the first Metro ride along with Prime Minister Modi, Kerala Chief Minister and the Kerala Governor.

Some of the other most-commented names were Kesavan, Appu, Mottu, Machu, etc. Some quirky heads had coined words like Metrana, Jabru etc. Some went a bit ahead and said that the cute elephant should be named 'Aswathy Achu' - a popular name for fake IDs on Facebook troll pages.

Another man wanted the mascot to be named Saritha. Reason: So that the Kerala governemnt will always be with her.
