THRISSUR: Industries Minister A C Moideen on Thursday said a section of people is deliberately twisting facts and creating issues to stall the GAIL pipeline project. At the inaugural function of the Ind-Expo 2017, organised jointly by Ministry of Micro and Small Scale Industries, Kerala Industries Department and Kerala Small Scale Traders Association at the exhibition ground here, he said the project will be of great importance to everyone, including smallscale traders.

It is vital for the country’s growth. He said the government has started the initiative to address the problems faced by small-scale industries. To make the state industry-friendly, the government will implement a new industrial policy, which would be completed by January, the minister said.
The government is also considering to introduce pension to those in small-scale industries.
He said that to protect small industries, new policies are being formulated by the government. It is the small-scale sector which provides more job opportunities and revenue than the organised sector, he said.
