Kerala bids tearful farewell to Rasila Raju

Meanwhile, relatives raised concern over personal belongings of the victim going missing after the murder.

KOZHIKODE: The mortal remains of Rasila Raju, the 23-year-old systems engineer who was murdered by the security guard on Infosys campus in Pune was buried on her house premises at Payimbra near Kunnamangalam on Tuesday evening.

The body, accompanied by her father Raju and relatives, were brought to Kozhikode by flight from Mumbai around 11 am.

By 12.30 pm, the body was taken to her house at Payimbra where the young girl was given last respects by family members, relatives, friends and local people.

Her elder brother Lajin, who is working abroad, and father Raju were among the family members who paid  homage to the girl. The funeral was completed  by 2.30 pm. 

Rasila was strangled to death with a computer cable at her work station in Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi on Sunday evening.

Bhaben Sailcia, a 26-year-old from Assam who worked as a watchman in the office, was arrested by the police from Mumbai on Monday morning in connection with the murder.

Meanwhile, relatives raised concern over the missing of personal belongings of the victim, including a mobile phone and gold chain, after the murder. “The mobile phone and the ornament are vital evidence in the case. But they were found missing after the incident. Though the police were informed about it, they have not been able to trace the items yet,” said O P Manoj, uncle of the deceased.
