THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Perhaps, sore over the Kerala High Court’s ‘Vigilance raj’ remark the other day, the Vigilance headquarters on Wednesday issued a rather bizarre notice, asking officers not to entertain complaints against ‘large-scale corruption.’

It was issued based on the instructions of Vigilance Director Jacob Thomas. However, the notice was later removed after some people took photographs and spread them in social media.

A Vigilance officer said the announcement was put up on the notice board for internal communication and it was applicable to all the officers who have to deal with the public regarding complaints.

“We had to remove the notice as its photos were widely circulated through WhatsApp. All the officers have been asked to delete the pictures of the notice in their phones,” he said.  When contacted, Vigilance Director Jacob Thomas said there was no ‘Vigilance raj’ in the state and he was only fighting against corruption.
