KOTTAYAM: It now appears the discord between the CPM and the CPI has spread to their student organisations, with the All India Students Federation (AISF),coming down heavily against the SFI.

At its state secretariat meeting in Kottayam on Friday, the AISF has warned the SFI leadership not to resort to intimidating tactics.

The AISF leaders made it clear they did not intend to work together with the SFI till the latter shunned their fascist stance.

“The SFI has started making false allegations against the AISF only to mask the setback they faced in the Law Academy agitation. They (the SFI) should apologise for deceiving the students by signing an agreement with the Law Academy management in the latter’s backyard. We will not put up with the backstabbing anymore,” the leaders told the meeting.

At the same time, the meeting blasted the SFI for trying to draw parallels between the AISF and the Sangh Parivar organisations.

“The SFI state president’s allegations were immature and incorrect,” it observed.
The AISF meeting also resolved to move ahead with the protests to protect the rights of the students, for which the AISF would join hands with the like-minded students’ organisations.

Besides, the meeting launched a scathing attack on the police and said the police did not stand by the victims, in many cases including the Jishnu Prannoy incident. The AISF would take to the streets to demand action against the police.

Meanwhile, the AISF state secretariat and the state committee congratulated the party on the successful protests on the Law Academy and the University College issue.
