Centre to step in to end political violence in Kerala

The Centre will have to exercise its might to put an end to the violence in Kerala, BJP spokeswoman Meenakshi Lekhi told reporters.

PALAKKAD: If the political killings in the state continue unabated, the Centre will have to exercise its might to put an end to it, BJP spokeswoman Meenakshi Lekhi told reporters at the BJP district committee office here on Monday.

“We will even have to resort to serious measures like approaching the Supreme Court, National Human Rights Commission and the deploying of paramilitary forces,” she said after visiting the house of Kannan, whose wife Vimala and brother Radhakrishnan were killed after vehicles parked outside their house were set on fire allegedly by the CPM activists.

“Kerala is not China, where the killings would go unreported. Large-scale attacks on the BJP activists were occurring in the constituencies of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and former CM V S Achuthanandan, which also happens to be the native village of former CPM general secretary Prakash Karat. She said since the CPM was unable to take on the BJP ideologically, it has resorted to political killings.  Besides, the state government has not compensated the families of the victims of the political violence.

The CPM is doing exactly the opposite of what they were preaching at JNU in New Delhi. In Kerala they have killed Dalit children, Anil and Vishnu. In the same breathe they talk about Rohit Vemula. Hundreds of children have been orphaned in the state following the violence perpetrated by the CPM. This “Talibanisation” by the CPM should be condemned by right-thinking people.

The CPM does not believe in the constitution. Since the LDF Government came to office, 400 FIRs have been registered in the state. The CPM does not believe in political opposition and was engaged in eliminating those who stood up to protect the constitution.
