ALAPPUZHA: District police chief V M Rafeeq has sought a report from the Mavelikkara CI regarding the alleged fraud involved in the banking activities of the Thazhakara branch of the Mavelikkara Taluk Service Cooperative Bank on Monday.
According to the district police chief, “The department registered a case based on the complaint of the joint registrar of Cooperative Department. In the preliminary investigation, large-scale financial mismanagement was found in the banking activities.”
“The DGP had issued a directive to the police department that corruption cases involving crores of rupees should be handed over to investigating agencies like the crime branch or Vigilance. So the department will hand over the preliminary report to the DGP,” he said.
