Quick verification ordered against minister Kadakampally Surendran
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance Court here ordered a quick verification against devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran in connection with the appointment of director of the Agency for Non Conventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT) under power ministry.
The order was passed on a petition alleging the appointment of R Harikumar, who has been facing a Vigilance inquiry for financial irregularities, as the director of ANERT.
The court directed the Vigilance to submit the quick verification report within 30 days. Meanwhile, the agency submitted that the investigation is underway.
The petition--filed by Kovalam MLA M Vincent--had alleged that Surendran had shown special interest in appointing Harikumar as the director, in violation of the guidelines.
