Suni was my driver for close to a year: Mukesh

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police team probing the actor assault case recorded the statements of MLAs M Mukesh and Anwar Sadath on Monday at the legislators’ hostel here.

Mukesh is learnt to have said he and his family knew Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, the main accused. He said Suni worked as his driver for close to a year and he got to know of the assault through the media. Mukesh later told reporters he was asked about his relation with Suni. Meanwhile, Anwar Sadath was asked about his relation with actor Dileep, it is learnt.

Police had a detailed questionnaire covering Sadath’s friendship with Dileep, his phone conversations and foreign tours. Sadath told the cops he was not acquainted with Suni.Though the probe team was to record the statement of P T Thomas MLA in connection with the case in the afternoon, they deferred it after Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan expressed displeasure over the team not seeking his prior consent.

Sreeramakrishnan, who came to know of Thomas’ questioning from news channels, asked the chief marshal of the Assembly whether the team took permission for the same.A team of officers from the Assembly met the investigation team and conveyed the violation of norms following which the latter left without questioning Thomas.

Plaint against K C Joseph MLA  

Kannur: The district police chief has received a complaint against Irikkur MLA K C Joseph for specifying the name of the abused actress in his Facebook post. The police officers confirmed they had received a complaint two days ago but refused to share further details. The SP has directed to conduct an investigation into the complaint.

Abduction bid: Pulsar Suni booked

Kochi: The Ernakulam Central police on Monday registered a case against Pulsar Suni on charges of attempting to abduct another woman actor. Officers said the incident occurred purportedly in November 2011 when the actress arrived in the city for shooting purposes. Suni, who had been working as a driver at the time, picked up the actress from the Railway station and attempted to take her to another location.

“The actor who grew suspicious of Suni’s motives called up her husband, a film producer, and informed him of the matter. Following this, he contacted the movie’s producer and they identified Suni. He then dropped her off at a suburban hotel and fled,” they said . Ernakulam Central CI Ananthalal said the case was registered on the basis of the complaint lodged by producer Johny Sagarika.
