The ceremonies in connection with the installation of new golden flag mast of Lord Ayyappa temple here to be performed under the direct supervision of Thantri Kandararu Rajivaru will begin on June 19.

SABARIMALA: The ceremonies in connection with the installation of new golden flag mast of Lord Ayyappa temple here to be performed under the direct supervision of Thantri Kandararu Rajivaru will begin on June 19.

The rites will start with ‘prasadha sudhikriyas’ at 5 pm on the inaugural day. ‘Rakshagna homam’,’vasthu homam’, ‘vasthubali’ , ‘vasthukalasam’ and ‘rakshakalasam’ are among the other rites to be performed the same evening.  

On the second day, the rites will begin with ‘mbasudhikriyas’ which include ‘chathisudhi’, ‘dhara’, ‘panchakom’ and ‘panchagavyam’ and they  will conclude with ‘kalasabhishekam’ on the idol of Lord Ayyappa during ‘uchcha pooja’. In the evening, ‘bhagawathiseva’ and ‘sudarsana homam’ will be performed.

‘Mruthyumjaya homam’ will be the special ritual to be held on day three, with ‘athbhuthasanthi homam’ and ‘kalasapooja’ being the important rites to be performed on June 22.

On June 23, ‘sukrutha homam’ will be the special rite to be conducted.

‘Tatwa homam’, ‘jaladroni pooja’,’sayyapooja’, ‘jeevakalasa pooja’, ‘adhivasa homam’ and ‘adhivasa pooja’ will be held on June 24.

Installation ceremony
The installation ceremony of the golden flag mast will be held under the direct supervision of Thantri Rajivaru between 11.40 am-1.40 pm on June 25.

Ten-day festival
The 10-day festival as part of flag mast installation will begin on June 28.
Thantri Rajivaru will perform the ‘kodiyettu’ ceremony on the new flag mast which will take place in the morning after the ‘usha pooja’.

The festival will conclude with the arattu ceremony at ‘arattu kadavu’ in the Pampa, opposite the Pampa Lord Ganapathi temple, at 11.30 am on July 7 and the temple will be closed at 10 pm.
