According to Dharmadam police, a case has been registered against the student and staff editors and magazine committee members based on a complaint filed by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

The annual magazine had courted controversy by publishing caricatures allegedly insulting the national anthem and hurting Hindu sentiment.

While one caricature shows a couple having sex behind chairs in a cinema hall while the national anthem plays on the screen, the other portrays a hand holding a phallus, with a flag with ‘Om’ written on it and tied to the wrist.

The magazine; Pellet, was published to mark the 125th anniversary of the college. College authorities suspended its distribution after protests peaked.
