THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Police Chief T P Senkumar on Monday sought a detailed report from Kochi City Police Commissioner M P Dinesh on the reported police high-handedness on the agitators against the construction of the LPG terminal of IOC at High Court junction. 

The police team led by DCP G H Yathish Chandra on Friday resorted to lathicharge at the High Court junction on around 100-odd protesters, including women and children, of Puthuvype. In the lathicharge, 20 people suffered injuries.

They are still under treatment at the Ernakulam General Hospital and Kalamassery Government MC. The DGP also directed ADGP (south zone) B Sandhya and Ernakulam Range IG P Vijayan to bring the situation at Puthuvype under control.
