No social media for Wayanad dist’s lone girl topper

KALPETTA: Arundhathi Chandrasekharan from Muttil chose to tread a different path to find a place in the league of achievers. The lone girl topper in KEAM from the district said a big ‘no’ to social media and it did pay rich dividends. She bagged the 43rd rank in the entrance exam.

“I did not expect to be among the top 50 in the exam,” said Arundhathi who did her Plus Two at Vijayagiri Public School, Chalakkudy, Thrissur. “I am not into social media because it distracts a lot and ruins studies.” Scoring 5,199 in JEE Advanced, she is eyeing one of the top engineering institutes in the country. “I hope I will get an admission in a premier institution,” she said. Her father Chandrasekharan is an agriculturist while her mother Sobha is a home maker. Her sister Gayathri is a student at ISER, Thiruvananthapuram.
