Man found dead with gunshot wound in Kerala's Kozhikode

The body of 40-year-old Madathil Sakharia was found lying on the verandah of a shop this morning.

KOZHIKODE: A man was found dead with gunshot wound at Thottilpalam near here on Thursday morning. According to the police, the body was found lying on the verandah of a shop this morning.

The man has been identified as Madathil Sakharia, aged 40. Police have recovered a gun which was lying near the body. A team of forensic experts has reached the spot to collect evidence. The body will be shifted to the medical college for a post mortem.

According to police, the gun seems to be a crude one. A ballistic team will analyse the weapon. “We have just launched a probe and yet to prepare an FIR,” Thottilpalam police said.
