Unnikrishnan who claimed to be a reincarnation of Kalki and was arrested on charges of rape and cheating three women.

KOCHI: Police will investigate whether more women fell prey to the 30-year-old self-proclaimed reincarnation of Kalki, arrested on Tuesday on charges of rape and cheating of three women.  As part of the probe, police will verify Unnikrishnan alias Kannan’s phone and laptop records with assistance from the cyber cell.

Police said Unnikrishnan from Engandiyoor in Thrissur was living with three women in an apartment near Infopark Kakkanad.  The accused has studied up to plus-two while the women are highly educated with MBA, MTech and BTech degrees under their belt.

The investigators will also record the statement of the man’s wife from Thrissur, whom the accused is said to have divorced. Police will file an application before the court seeking the custody of the accused.  He was booked under charges of rape and cheating and sent to judicial custody.

There were two cases of cheating registered against him in Thrissur too. Unnikrishnan befriended the women while working with them in a company near Perumbavoor a few years ago. They later left the job to launch a software company in Kakkanad.

Next year, he got acquainted with another woman, a native of Idukki, from a shopping mall and accommodated her at a rented house near his apartment. They had been living with him from 2013, police said. The accused lured the women by introducing himself as a reincarnation of ‘Kalki’ and sourced money from them.
