Former Kerala Transport Minister A K Saseendran can return if he’s clean: Sharad Pawar

The national leadership on Tuesday said Saseendran could return if he emerges clean from the ‘sleazegate’.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A final call on the NCP minister in the LDF Cabinet will be delayed for a few more days. Even as the party’s state leadership proposed Kuttanad MLA Thomas Chandy as its ministerial candidate in place of A K Saseendran, the national leadership on Tuesday said Saseendran could return if he emerges clean from the ‘sleazegate’.

The NCP parliamentary board meeting, to be held either on Friday or Monday, will take a decision.

“If outcome of the judicial inquiry is in favour of Saseendran, then we’ll have to induct him into the government,” said NCP president Sharad Pawar.

NCP state president Uzhavoor Vijayan said: “We have decided, as per the judicial probe, Saseendran can come back to the Cabinet. Praful Patel, who’s in charge of Kerala, is out of station. Once he’s back the leadership will take a decision either on Friday or Monday."
