Kerala sleazegate row: Complaint against TV channel staff

Eight of the persons named in the petition are staff of the channel and the ninth one is the woman who allegedly participated in the conspiracy.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nationalist Youth Congress state president  advocate Mujeeb Rahuman has lodged a complaint with the Cyber Police Station seeking action against the private television channel staff who broadcast obscene voice records claiming to be of former minister A K Saseendran.

Eight of the persons named in the petition are staff of the channel and the ninth one is the woman who allegedly participated in the conspiracy.

The petitioner said the channel broadcast the obscene voice recording also through its Facebook account.

“The accused hacked and forged the telephone conversation of the minister which is unconstitutional,” the petition said. “The voice recording amounts to cyber pornography, cyber defamation and cyber stalking. Action should be taken under the provisions of Information Technology Act, Indian Telegraph Act, IPC and Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act,” he said.
