KOTTAYAM: Alleging the Kerala Congress(M) joining hands with the CPM to capture power in Kottayam district panchayat was an act of political deceit, Congress activists took out protest rallies in various parts of the district on Wednesday.
Agitations were organised at Kaduthuruthy, Ramapuram, Pala and Changanassery. Kerala Congress leaders K M Mani and Jose K Mani were burnt in effigy at Pala and Changanassery while boards and flagmasts of Kerala Congress(M) were destroyed at Kaduthuruthy.
A protest march was taken out at Pala from near Lalam Junction to the General Hospital. At Changanassery, the march was followed by a public meeting which was inaugurated by DCC general secretary P H Nasar.
