THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In an era of globalisation, the Left Government is introducing an alternative at the national level, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Drawing a parallel between his government and the first government of Kerala in 1957 under Communist ideologue EMS, he said the initiatives of his government are a continuation of the revolutionary measures taken by the first government.
“Except in 1977, the Left Front or the Left Government has always been in power on the seventh year of each decade. More than a mere numbers game, this shows a continuation of the policies. In 1957 when the first Communist government assumed office, there were many who were excited while there were some who were concerned. It’s the same now also,” Pinarayi said.
He said while the EMS government initiated steps within its limitations, the current left government is trying to develop a new Kerala.
