KOCHI: IT seems the Corporation is adopting a lackadaisical approach in implementing development projects in the city. With barely four days left for submitting the detailed report on the annual plan projects to the state government, the Corporation tabled the proposals before the council only on Saturday. Discussions on the project proposals will be held during the council to be convened on Monday.

The detailed project report can be submitted to the government only after getting the approval of the council. The government had set May 31 as deadline for the corporations to submit the proposals. It has allocated `138.51 crore for the Kochi Corporation to implement various plan projects during 2017-18 fiscal.

“The workshop conducted by the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA) had elaborated the detailed action plan and timetable for preparing the plan project. However, many councillors failed to follow the procedures,” said V P Chandran, CPM councillor.
