BJP leader arrested for cheating job aspirants

A BJP leader, who’s running a computer centre at Karette, was arrested on Monday for allegedly cheating many job aspirants.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A BJP leader, who’s running a computer centre at Karette, was arrested on Monday for allegedly cheating many job aspirants.The job fraud racket was busted on Saturday with the arrest of the kingpin Abhijith had allegedly collected Rs 2,40,000 from around 20 aspirants on the promise of giving clerical and non-teaching job positions in the schools run by Devaswom Board.

Kilimanoor police arrested  BJP man Sivaprasad, 49,  along with his female staff for forging documents.
According to the police, Sivaprasad, who owns a DTP centre named ‘Vismaya Computer Centre’ at Karettu, and his colleague allegedly made fake appointment letters.The accused have also been booked under Section 420 (Punishment for cheating).

The police received the complaint from the aspirants on September 29. Abhijith is presently under judicial custody while Sivaprasad and his staff have been remanded for 14 days by the magistrate.
“Though Sivaprasad and his staff are not directly involved in the case, there is substantial evidence against them in giving all the support to Abhijith. We found the involvement of the accused after noticing that the all the print-outs were made from a single shop,” said V S Pradeep Kumar, Kilimanoor CI.
 Sivaprasad is a former BJP state committee member. He had also contested in 2011 Assembly elections at Vamanapuram constituency in BJP ticket.
