Lay down arms, RSS tells CPM

RSS Saha Sar Kariavah (joint general secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale has asked the CPM leadership in the state to lay down their arms as killing and attacking political opponents will  not be desirabl

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: RSS Saha Sar Kariavah (joint general secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale has asked the CPM leadership in the state to lay down their arms as killing and attacking political opponents will  not be desirable  in a democracy. After handing over the Sangh’s solatium to the family of slain RSS kariavah Rajesh, of Sreekariam, here on Thursday morning he said people might have different political ideologies and opinions.  Instead of holding talks and ideological debates, no one should attempt to annihilate their political opponents. He said the CPM stand would only help make some women widows and some children orphans.

The RSS leader said those Communists who had always been vocal about democracy and human rights, however, had proved themselves to be anti-democratic and anti- human.
“The world has witnessed the massacre at Tiananmen Square  in China and the genocide under Pol Pot in Cambodia. They have no right to utter a single word about democracy,” he said.
Dattatreya Hosabale said the moral support of all the RSS men in the country would be with the slain RSS workers and their families.  He said the entire country was proud of the RSS workers in Kerala who  continue to stay with the national movement despite the continued physical assaults at the hands of the CPM workers.

He said the CPM should end the story of bloodshed and open a new chapter for peace. “The RSS is always ready for dialogue. Only in such a scenario Kerala would become God’s Own Country. Otherwise, it would become the land of the devil,” he said.  Kerala which has made the country proud by attaining 100 pc literacy is, however, not behaving in the manner which suits its image. In several parts of the country, the RSS had to face atrocities. In Andhra Pradesh, Naxalites and Maoists had killed  RSS and ABVP workers. In the north-eastern states insurgents and  and terrorists had kidnapped and killed Sangh activists. RSS national executive member A Sethumadhavan, prantha pracharak  P N Harikrishna Kumar,  P R Sasidharan and M S Rameshan attended the function. Earlier, Dattatreya Hosabale visited the family members of Rajesh and consoled them.
