THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A national leader who could not enter his own state following court order has been spreading lies about Kerala terming it the land of jihadis and anti-nationals, said CPI state chief Kanam Rajendran. Taking a dig at BJP national president Amit Shah, Kanam said the BJP has been unleashing a deliberate campaign to disrupt peace in Kerala and make it a land of communal clashes. Under the cover of Janaraksha Yatra, BJP’s attempt is to portray the state as a land of communal clashes. Referring to Salahudeen case, Kanam reminded that Amit Shah was restricted by the apex court from entering Gujarat.

“The BJP has been trying to block Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and left organisations in other states. But here Amit Shah has been travelling across the state without any difficulty trying to spread false propaganda. This shows the state’s high democratic values,” he said. Instead of opposing communalism, the UDF has been trying to oppose the Left government in the state, he said.

One nation one poll impractical Kanam termed the move for one nation one poll  impractical. “In a country like India where diversity is the key, how can this be practical,” Kanam asked.
