Minister to inaugurate World Mental Health Day

Health Minister K K Shylaja on Tuesday will inaugurate the World Mental Health Day, which focuses on mental health in the workplace.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister K K Shylaja on Tuesday will inaugurate the World Mental Health Day, which focuses on mental health in the workplace.As part of the celebration, she will inaugurate a help desk and release a hand book. The World Mental Health Day here is jointly organised by the Kerala State Mental Health Authority, district mental health programme and the Thiruvananthapuram government mental health centre. 

In the morning, a seminar on mental health in the workplace will be held. Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College RMO Mohan Roy G, psychiatrist social worker at Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital Raveendran R, clinical psychologist at Alappuzha General Hospital Kasturi S N and Dinesh R S of Government Mental Health Centre will talk on various mental issues in work places.  

Thiruvananthapuram Corporation mayor V K Prasanth, DME Dr Remla Beevi, DHS Dr R L Saritha, NHM state mission director Kesavendrakumar, V S Sivakumar MLA, Kerala State Mental Health Centre secretary Dr Jayaprakashan K P, Homeopathy Director Dr K Jamuna, Ayurveda Medical Education Director Dr C Ushakumariand others will be present.
